Peru GKS Chapter
The Peru GKS Chapter actively participated in a range of educational and cultural activities throughout 2026, promoting the GKS program and strengthening the local alumni network.
At the Local Government Education Fair on , GKS alumni operated an information booth using promotional materials on studying in Korea. They introduced visitors to the GKS scholarship application process and shared practical information about student life in Korea.
On , alumni also participated in Comet Fest 2026, where they held a session for Peruvian middle and high school students covering GKS undergraduate and graduate programs, studying in Korea, Korean culture, and major tourist destinations.
On , the Embassy hosted a GKS Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony for newly selected 2026 GKS graduate scholars, together with GKS alumni residing in Peru. The new scholars received scholarship certificates presented on behalf of the Ambassador and were congratulated and encouraged during a Korean dinner.
Through these activities, GKS alumni actively contributed to promoting Korea and the GKS program in Peru while serving as ambassadors and bridges between Korea and Peru. In particular, the active leadership of the Alumni Association President, along with participation from alumni working in various fields including central government ministries and academia helped strengthen the visibility, engagement, and solidarity of the GKS alumni network in Peru.

페루 GKS 동문회는 2026년 한 해 동안 교육 박람회, 문화행사 및 장학증서 수여식 등 다양한 활동에 참여하며 GKS 홍보와 동문 네트워크 강화에 적극적으로 나섰다. 먼저 개최된 페루 지자체 교육 박람회에서는 GKS 동문들이 한국 유학 홍보자료를 활용한 상담부스를 운영하며 GKS 장학금 신청 방법과 한국 유학 생활 등에 대한 정보를 현지 학생과 방문객들에게 소개하였다.
이어 개최된 Comet Fest 2026에서는 페루 중·고등학생을 대상으로 GKS 학부 및 대학원 전형, 한국 유학 정보와 한국의 문화·관광지 등을 소개하는 세션을 진행하며 한국 유학에 대한 관심을 높였다.
또한 주페루대한민국대사관에서 열린 정부초청 장학증서 수여식에서는 재페루 GKS 동문들과 함께 2026년도 GKS 대학원 장학생 선발자들을 초청하여 대사 명의의 장학증서를 수여하고, 한식 만찬을 통해 새로운 장학생들의 선발을 축하하고 격려했다.
이번 활동을 통해 GKS 동문들은 현지 사회에서 적극적으로 활동하며 한국과 GKS를 알리는 민간 홍보대사이자 가교 역할을 수행하였으며 특히 동문회장이 직접 행사를 주도하고, 페루 중앙부처 공무원과 교수 등 다양한 분야에서 활동하는 동문들이 행사 운영에 참여하면서 동문회의 존재감과 결집력을 한층 강화하는 계기가 되었다.
