2023년 12월 21일, 국립국제교육원(NIIED)이 정부초청 외국인 장학생(GKS) 송년의 밤 행사를 개최 하였습니다. 본 행사는 정부초청 외국인 장학생들의 우수한 학업을 축하하고, 재능 있는 학생들에게 최우수, 우수상 등을 시상하여 그 동안의 학업의 성과를 축하하기 위해 매년 개최 되고 있습니다.

올해는 약 200명의 사람들이 행사에 참가하였는데, 정부초청 외국인 장학생들을 비롯하여, 각 국의 주 한국 대사관 관계자 및 외교관, 대학 관계자들, 그리고 NIIED 의 관계자들이 참여하였습니다.

국립국제 교육원 류혜숙 원장은 “이번 행사를 통해 정부초청외국인 장학생들이 한국 유학 생활 동안 성취한 성과를 축하 받고, 남은 유학 생활을 성공적으로 마무리하는 뜻 깊은 시간이 되기를 바란다.”라고 밝혔습니다. 이주호 부총리 겸 교육부장관은 축사를 통해 “유학 생활이 쉽지 않겠지만 여러 어려움을 극복한 경험이 장학생들을 그 분야의 리더로 성장시킬 것이다”라고 장학생들을 격려하였습니다.

행사는 개회사 및 학업 우수상 시상 (카드카 애쉬윈(네팔), 스미르노바 엘레나(러시아), 크리스티나 이즈푸루아 미란다(파나마)), 저녁 식사와 재미있는 퀴즈 참여 등으로 모든 참석자들은 즐거운 시간을 보내며 저녁을 마무리했습니다.

The year-end party was organized by National Institute for International Education (NIIED) on December 21st, 2023. This eagerly anticipated event is held annually to celebrate academic excellence, recognize outstanding staff members, and showcase special performances by talented individuals.

This year's festivities were nothing short of spectacular, with over 200 distinguished guests in attendance. Among them were government-invited students, esteemed ambassadors and diplomats, university officials, and esteemed representatives from NIIED.

The proud moment was to witness the announcement of the recipients of this year's awards for the exceptional performance throughout the academic year 2022-2023 to Khadka Ashwin from Nepal, Smirnova Elena from Russia, Lisseth Cristina Aizpurua Miranda from Panama. Their dedication and all-around excellence have truly set them apart, and we commend them for their outstanding achievements.

The event witnessed the inspiring speeches from Director Ryu Hye Sook and Vice Prime Minister, as well as Education Minister Lee Ju Ho, who shared motivating words and offered congratulatory remarks to the deserving award winners.

The evening concluded with a delightful dinner and fun-filled quiz participation, fostering camaraderie and laughter among all attendees.
