Innovative Education Model: ERICA IC-PBL

▷ What is IC-PBL(Industry-Coupled Problem-Based Learning)
- A learner-centered educational model at ERICA in which learners solve context-rich problems occurring in real-life fields, coupled with industry, society, and university
- Students learn debating skills, creativity, and problem solving skills by themselves as the subject of the class.

▷ Process of IC-PBL
01. Scenario Development
• Explore an industry
• Develop a IC-PBL scenario with actual subject matter from within the industry
02. Problem-Solving Process
• Students are introduced to relevant industry related issues
• Interim report of students is reviewed by industry representatives
03. Evaluation
• Feedback and evaluation given on the students' final report
• Students learn to adopt and apply solutions in the industry

Departments offering classes exclusively in English:
- Computer Science (English Track): Admission available only for 3rd-year transfer students
- Economics (English Track)
- Business Administration (English Track)

Approximately 30% of courses in other departments are offered in English (varies by department).

▷ Facilities for Muslim Students
The Hanyang University ERICA Campus has been active in its efforts to provide resources and facilities to better accommodate our growing Muslim population. At present, more than 100 government sponsored Muslim students are studying at ERICA. The campus offers prayers rooms, a separate kitchen, and various kinds of special support even during the Ramadan period.

▷ Counseling Service for International Students
Hanyang University is the first university in Korea that launched a Counseling Psychology program. Two counsellors are dedicated to serving international students and offer counseling in 3 languages. (Korean, English, and Chinese)

▷ Buddy & Tutoring Programs
- Buddy Program
International Students can apply for the Buddy Program before coming to Korea. In the program, each student is assigned one Hanyang student who assist the international student adjust to the new culture and environment in Korea. International Students can also participate in many various events and activities, provided with the opportunities to network and build friendships.
- Tutoring Program
International degree students who might experience difficulties with courses in their major can request assistance from the international office or their department office. A Hanyang student will be arranged to meet each student one-to-one or in a group setting whichever is more convenient, and free of charge.
