As the first American university in Korea to offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs, The State University of New York, Korea (SUNY Korea) operates prestigious academic programs from two renowned universities of The State University of New York (SUNY) system: Stony Brook University (SBU), one of the top sciences and engineering institutions in the United States, and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), the world's leading fashion school. SBU at SUNY Korea currently offers six majors: Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Business Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technological Systems Management. These programs provide a well-balanced and competitive curriculum. The Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and Statistics programs are particularly strong in big data, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, while Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering focus on cutting-edge fields such as superconductors, semiconductors, autonomous vehicles, and robotics. In addition, the Technological Systems Management and Business Management programs foster interdisciplinary talents equipped for the modern industry. Among these, the departments of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology and Society offer not only undergraduate programs but also graduate-level (master’s and doctoral) degree programs. FIT at SUNY Korea offers two programs: Fashion Business Management and Fashion Design. Students complete their associate degree program (1st and 2nd year) at the SUNY Korea campus and then have the option to transfer to FIT campuses in New York, or in Milan/Florence, Italy, to complete their bachelor’s degree (3rd and 4th year).
