Field of Special Course
■ Community Program – Bahrom Character Education Bahrom means ‘to live right’ in Korean. Bahrom Character Education provides a precious opportunity to find your true self and to find joy in living with others in your community. It will teach you to become proactive in your life with an energy to build your future. It will be a meaningful experience for international students as it will give them a chance to live with Korean students and learn what it is to become a member of SWU community. - Bahrom 1 Awakening myself (3 -week residential program) - Bahrom 2 Awakening the community (2-week residential program) - Bahrom 3 Awakening the world (Team project)
■ Global Program – World Culture Experience & Service WCES is a global program where students spend 3 weeks in different parts of the world for cultural exchange and community service. Students will have workshop and seminar with local students from SWU’s partner university in the first week, and engage in community service for locals such as children, senior citizens, physically handicapped in the second week. In the third week students have opportunity to experience traditional culture of the host country. Currently SWU is sending students to India, France, Indonesia, Russia, Mongolia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. A round-trip airfare, travel insurance are covered by SWU.
■ Study English – SWELL SWU is has its own intensive English program called SWELL(Seoul Women’s University English Language License). SWELL is aiming to equip students with English skills so that they will be able to communicate with native English speakers. This is much needed for students who live in 21st Century where the world is becoming a global community, with vast exchange of different ideas and cultures. Especially, SWELL is known for its 6-week immersion program during breaks, where students live together on campus and be totally surrounded by English-only environment; proven to be as effective as learning language abroad.
■ Job Opportunities Program - SWCD Academy Internship SWU is running an internship program to further students’ capacity in the field. Job training customized for companies as well as online sessions that are designed to fulfill individual needs are provided. SWU alumnae are invited as guest speakers to share stories about their field of work. 62.2% of the SWCD Academy graduates are employed, giving students a great deal of assistance in getting a job after graduation.
■ Campus Life - International Student Orientation - Buddy Program(Matched with SWU Buddy, or senior international students) - 1:1 Counseling with International Student Advisor - Various cultural activities (Movies, excursions, Seoul City Tour, K-Pop Dance class, etc.) - SWISO (Seoul Women's University International Student Organization) - Information for international students available at Center for International Students & Scholars webpage (http://swuir.ac.kr/zbxe/iss); visa and cultural activities
■ Academic Support - Financial support for TOPIK application (once a year, for those who do not have TOPIK Lv. 4) - Provides prep class for TOPIK test - Korean Language class open in General Education curriculum (Advanced Korean) - Writing Lab available within Global Lounge on campus - Special lecture on study method - A separate orientation for international students on academics (credits, graduation, change of major, etc.) - International students have priority in class registration
■ Guidance Support - Regular counseling with your professor (2 times per semester) - Special session on guidance & job searching - Participate in Job Fair for International Students (organized by KOTRA) - Employment information shared through CISS webpage

● Eco-friendly Campus SWU started STOP CO2 Eco-Campus Campaign, and is at the forefront of building a low-carbon, green society at this age of global warming.
