The Graduate School for International Studies (GSIS) offers a scholarship from 25% to 100% of the tuition fee to all new students according to their performances in the admission process.
From the 2nd semester, tuition will be waived by GPA of the previous semester like100%, 75%, 50%, 25%. (Different scholarship system will be applied to the Ph.D. Students.)
To get scholarship from 2nd semester, there are some requirements to meet.
1. GPA should be over 3.5 (for MA students) or 4.0 (for Ph.D. students)
2. Course registration over 9 credits
3. Submission of English test score: TOEFL PBT 580, CBT 237, IBT 92, TOEIC 880, IELTS 7.0, TEPS 806 or over
(Exempted for the native English speakers or graduates from universities in the English speaking countries)

: 4~5 new Asian students per every fall semester, full tuition grant for 2 years, stipend for 2 years(KRW 1,000,000 per every month)
2. Korean Government Scholarship Program (by NIIED)
:The NIIED (National Institute for International Education; Korean governmental institute) invites international students every year for Korean Government Scholarship Program(KGSP). The KGSP is a full-scholarship program, having a lot of benefits including living costs, etc. International students can apply for the KGSP through Sogang GSIS directly or Korean embassy in their countries for every fall semester admission.

Qualification : The status of foreign applicants is as follows.
Foreign applicants are those who have citizenship of foreign countries including parents or those whose parents don't have foreign citizenships must graduate elementary, middle, high school and university (or be expected to graduate from an accredited four-year college before March) in the foreign country.
* Overseas applicants who do not meet these qualification must apply for admission for Koreans.
Required Documents

2. Letter of recommendation(download) from at least 1 professor or office senior etc.(The person who can evaluate objectively)
* Recommendation should be written in SGSB's own form.
3. Diploma or a certificate of pending degree officially confirmed by the university
4. Official transcripts of all colleges and graduate schools attended should be original.
5. A statement of purpose in English: an essay (2 pages double-spaced, font size 10, using MS word processor) that enunciates the reasons why the applicant is interested in SGSB program, the applicant's life experiences and future career plans.
6. 1 copy of passport for non-Korean citizen (the copy will be checked with the original copy.)
7. One copy of a Verification of Deposit (over $10,000) of the person responsible for student's expenses Balance ($10,000). 2. Qualifications
An applicant must have graduated or be expected to graduate from an accredited four-year college, university or equivalent before the semester for which the applicant intends to enroll. In addition, an applicant must have a bachelor's degree(master's degree for Ph.D. Program) or evidence of equivalent.

4. Scholarship for foreign students
Sogang realizes the fact that tuition is a large concern for many students. This is the reason that we have the highest percentage of scholarships offered amongst Korean GSIS programs. All GSIS students who meet certain academic standards are entitled to a tuition scholarship. Scholarship can range from 25% of the tuition cost to 100%.
Besides this, we offer scholarships sponsored by POSCO (5 Southeast Asian students every year).
- Full tuition grant for 2 years
- Stipend for 2 years: Almost $1,000 with current exchange rate per every month
Student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above out of 4.3 each semester to maintain scholarship eligibility.

2. Qualifications
An applicant must have graduated or be expected to graduate from an accredited four-year college, university or equivalent before the semester for which the applicant intends to enroll. In addition, an applicant must have a bachelor's degree(master's degree for Ph.D. Program) or evidence of equivalent.

4. Scholarship for foreign students
Sogang realizes the fact that tuition is a large concern for many students. This is the reason that we have the highest percentage of scholarships offered amongst Korean GSIS programs. All GSIS students who meet certain academic standards are entitled to a tuition scholarship. Scholarship can range from 25% of the tuition cost to 100%.
Besides this, we offer scholarships sponsored by POSCO(5 Southeast Asian students every year).
- Full tuition grant for 2 years
- Stipend for 2 years: Almost $1,000 with current exchange rate per every month
Student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above out of 4.3 each semester to maintain scholarship eligibility.
