Scholarships from Universities

Many Korean universities run a variety of scholarship programs for foreign students. Most universities support foreign students for 30~100% of their tuition depending on their academic results. See the website for guidance on scholarships from universities: www.studyinkorea.go.kr

Scholarships from the Korean Government

Various Ministries of the Korean Government run scholarship programs for foreign students and are gradually increasing their quotas. At present, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade run scholarships for foreign students.

Eligibility Countries under Diplomatic Relations with Korea
Eligible fields of study All fields
Period of support 2 years for Masters, 3 years for Ph. D
Additional 1 year language training is required.
Scholarship Benefits Round-trip flight, language training fees, tuition, settlement allowance(200,000KRW), monthly stipend(900,000KRW), Korean Proficiency Grants (100,000KRW/month), research grants(210,000KRW/semester for liberal arts & social science majors and 240,000KRW/semester for science & engineering majors), thesis publishing fees, and insurance

Korean Government Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Degrees - Ministry of Education

Eligibility All field
Eligible fields of study All fields
Period of support 4 years for Bachelor's Degrees ; 2 year for Associate Degrees
(Addtional 1 year language training is required)
Scholarship Benefits Round trip flight, language training fees, tuition, settlement allowance(200,000KRW), monthly stipend(800,000KRW), Korean Proficiency Grants(100,000KRW/month), and insurance

Period of support 4 months or 12 months
Scholarship Benefits Monthly Allowance (500,000 KRW)

Art Major Asian (AMA) Scholarship - Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism

Eligibility Excellent Artists from various Asian countries
Fields supported Arts fields (music, dance, fine arts, film, drama, traditional arts)
Period of support 4 years undergraduate, 2~3 years postgraduate
Support provided 18 million won per year for undergraduate, 18 million won per year for postgraduate
